A dynamic Southern Italy, with businesses growing more than those in the North, and investing more in Artificial Intelligence and technology in general. According to the latest report published by Mediobanca's study center, medium-sized companies in the South over the past decade have recorded figures that run counter to the traditional image of a South that is trailing behind the rest of the country. Their turnover increased 71.2% compared to 59.7% for companies in the central north, and their productivity grew 33.4% compared to 29.1% for the rest of Italy. Competitiveness was also good, up 26 percentage points (+13.9% the other areas), with a significant increase in the workforce (+29.6% vs. +22.3%). Positive results that become even more relevant if we consider that they were obtained despite a tax burden that - due to local taxes - penalized medium-sized southern companies.
