An important recognition for the Surgery Department of the University of Modena. Director Dr. Micaela Piccoli has been elected to the Board of the Clinical Robotic Surgery Association, the global scientific society founded in 2009 in Chicago, dedicated to robotic surgery. Piccoli is the only Italian and the only woman among the ten board members from around the world. "I was already present since last year among the 50 executive members (including four women) selected among the robotic excellences worldwide", said Dr. Piccoli. “This year, I had the honor of being unanimously elected to the board, where I hope to make a meaningful contribution by highlighting Italian excellence and advocating for the female representation, which remains underrepresented in scientific societies and at national and international conferences. This year's appointment is especially significant because they will also be celebrating our first twenty years of robotic surgery in June 2025".
