The 17 members of the government, including ministers, deputy ministers and undersecretaries who were not elected in parliament, could soon benefit from a pay increase. Indeed, an amendment to the Manoeuvre plans to equalize their compensation with that of parliamentary ministers, with an increase of 7,193.11 euros per month. The proposal drew protests from the opposition, while Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, while deeming the principle of parity "fair", suggested that the measure would only come into effect from the next government.
