38.4% of foreign young people in Italy (aged 11–19) envision their future overseas, compared to 34% of young Italians. About 8% of foreign children aspire to reside in their country of origin as adults, while more than 30% envision themselves in a country other than Italy and their country of origin. According to CNEL, the Moroccan community wishes to reside in Italy the most (45.1%), which is comparable to the percentage of Italians (45.6%) but greater than the overall number of immigrants (37.9%).
