Genoa is changing ownership. The club has announced Romanian businessman Dan Șucu as the majority shareholder, with a 77% stake in the club's share capital. Șucu fully subscribed to the capital increase approved last December 14, amounting to more than 45 million euros, providing the club with the necessary resources to strengthen its sporting ambitions. Șucu is President of Confederația Patronală Concordia, the Romanian equivalent of Confindustria, and founder of Mobexpert, a leading furniture manufacturer in Romania. A former owner of Rapid Bucharest, he has invested in infrastructure development and youth academies, demonstrating a strong commitment to enhancing soccer as a social tool. The deal just concluded would be the first step toward a future total takeover of the Genoan stake. It is not yet clear, however, whether Șucu will be financially backed by Ion Tiriac, a former tennis player and among the richest sportsmen in the world.
