Andrea Piscina, a former radio speaker and coach of a multi-sport club, was sentenced to 6 years' imprisonment by Milan's Preliminary Hearing Judge (GUP), Roberto Crepaldi, at the end of an abbreviated trial. Piscina, 25, had been arrested in June 2024 on charges of production of child pornography and sexual assault. The GUP granted general mitigation and acquitted him of one of the six charges, relating to the incitement of two minors. Prosecutor Giovanni Tarzia had initially asked for a nine-year prison sentence. The defense, represented by attorney Valentina Di Maro, emphasized that the real victory for Piscina is the recognition of his disorder and the start of a path to recovery. The defense emphasized the importance of this recognition as part of the recovery process. The investigation had begun in 2023 after a complaint from the mother of a boy who attended the sports club where Piscina coached. Thousands of child pornographic images of children between the ages of 9 and 14 were found on the former speaker's devices. The investigation led to the discovery of other victims as Piscina presented himself on social media with fake female identities.
