The Venice Casino is thriving, heading towards €120 million in annual revenue. 2024 will end with 116 or 117 million euros net; in 2023, receipts (excluding tips and admissions) were roughly 115.2 million euros, up from 104.4 in 2022. And given that 2023 was the year of the surge following the extended pandemic, a year in which individuals resumed their freedom of movement without fear or restriction and subsequently returned in large numbers to play at the casino, this year's continued growth is a significant indicator. The Venice Casino has been able to generate positive results for eight consecutive years, following a period of persistent losses and the necessity for the Municipality to invest in it to address budget gaps. The return to profitability began in 2017, with a gradual increase in profitability. This year, the casino’s profits will exceed €20 million, benefiting Venice’s municipal coffers—and, by extension, its citizens.
