How much does it cost to follow your favorite team from the comfort of your couch? And how much do Italian fans spend compared to Spanish, English, German and French fans? To answer these questions, Facile.it examined the costs of subscriptions to digital platforms and Pay TV. It was determined that the annual subscription to watch the 2024/2025 Serie A championship and the international club matches from home in Italy cost a minimum of 648 euros. However, individuals who choose a monthly membership can pay up to 900 euros. The good news for Italian fans is that they are the luckiest in Europe; not only because Serie A has been recognized as the best league in the world, but also because the prices to follow their favorite team, if playing in our league, are the lowest compared to the countries analyzed in the study. Crossing national borders, it is evident that the costs of platform subscriptions increase significantly. In England, for example, fans spend at least €876 annually to watch the Premier League and European competitions from home. In Germany and France, supporters pay a minimum of 888 euros to follow their respective leagues and international cups from their homes, which is 37% more than Italy's 648 euros. The situation is significantly more detrimental for Spanish fans, who have spent 1,320 euros annually to watch LaLiga and the European Cups on TV this season, which is twice as much as in our country. The sole consolation is that in Spain, a single subscription is sufficient to access all competitions, whereas in the other countries analyzed, including Italy, multiple subscriptions are required to follow the league and international matches. The price to follow your favorite team from home varies depending on the competitions in which it is involved and, therefore, the platforms to which you need to subscribe. To support Milan, Inter, Juventus, Bologna, and Atalanta in the Champions League this year, the price of annual subscriptions was 648 euros, as previously stated, but the cost can rise to 900 euros for those who choose a monthly subscription and renew it every month. Fans of Lazio and Roma in the Europa League, as well as Fiorentina in the Conference League, budgeted €600 for their annual subscription. Those supporting teams not involved in European competitions can take some comfort, at least financially; for them, the cost of an annual subscription to follow the 2024/2025 Serie A season was €420.
