Acquired through the Ministry of Culture for a sum between six and seven million euros, Casa Balla becomes public heritage. The residence where Giacomo Balla (1871-1958), a master of Futurism and co-author of the Manifesto 'Futurist Reconstruction of the Universe', worked—marking the second phase of the movement born in Italy in 1909 with the publication of the 'Manifesto of Futurism' by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti—is an apartment located on the fourth floor of a building on Via Oslavia in Rome, on the left bank of the Tiber River. Since 2004, it has been under the protection of the Special Superintendence of Rome due to its significant cultural interest. The apartment is loaded with works by the artist, beginning with the futuristically painted walls, who worked there from 1929 until his death in 1958. The Balla House Museum, which was open temporarily from 2021 to 2023 thanks to the Museum of XXI Century Arts' interest, will soon be permanently open to the public.
