Just fifteen days after the official opening of the Jubilee, 545,532 pilgrims from all corners of the globe have already passed through the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. This was announced by the official Jubilee 2025 website. Groups of faithful walked in prayer along Via della Conciliazione starting from the renovated Piazza Pia, thus inaugurating a pilgrimage that promises to be historic. "A very significant beginning," said Bishop Rino Fisichella, in charge of organizing the event, "with an extraordinary participation of the people. The massive presence along Via della Conciliazione testifies not only to the faith of the pilgrims, but also to the sense of safety and security that is felt in Rome and around the Papal Basilicas". Starting January 5, with the opening of the Holy Door of the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, the faithful can complete their pilgrimage by passing through all four Holy Doors of the Papal Basilicas: St. Peter's, St. Paul's, St. John Lateran and St. Mary Major.
