Italy is the world's leading pasta-producing nation, with nearly 4 million tons per year (3.67 million tons) - followed by the United States (2 million tons), Turkey (1.9 million tons), Egypt (1.20 million tons) and Brazil (1.15 million tons) - and with a turnover approaching 7 billion euros. More than 60% of the pasta produced in our country is destined for foreign markets, with more than 2.2 million tons in 2023 (including 1.5 million tons destined for the EU). This is according to “Italy in 10 Selfies - An Economy on a Human Scale to Face the Future”, a publication recounting the ten strengths of our Country System, produced by the Symbola Foundation under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, in collaboration with Unioncamere and Assocamerestero, presented today at the Farnesina.
