The Rome Marathon is getting ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary with significant modifications and enormous enthusiasm. Lorenzo Benfenati, project manager of Run Rome the Marathon, announced a historic shift of the finish line from the Imperial Forums to the evocative Circus Maximus, the capital's symbol, which will make the event even more spectacular. With around 30,000 planned runners, the marathon wants to set a new registration record. One of the most significant changes is the function of the Circus Maximus, which will serve as both the arrival point for the main race and the relay, as well as the focus of the Stracittadina, a non-competitive race set for the prior day, Saturday. The Stracittadina will include a variety of events, including the Fun Run, Family Run, and Dog Run, to engage citizens of all ages. The start and conclusion will be at the Circus Maximus, which will be transformed into a stage for music and entertainment, resulting in a hugely popular festival.
