Seven individuals were detained in Milan on suspicion of leading an unlawful migrant trafficking network that has been functioning since 2022. According to authorities, the main sorting point was the Lampugnano bus station, located in the city's west side. Two international bus drivers are among those apprehended. They are accused of facilitating the transportation of irregular migrants, thereby evading frontiers controls at the Italian-French and Italian-Swiss borders. The investigations seek to dismantle an organization that used transit routes to promote illegal movement, generating a severe humanitarian and legal issue.
