"We are determined to combat climate change. However, we have always stated that certain of the stances taken by the European Commission in the previous legislative session are incorrect since they prevent our enterprises, whether industrial or agricultural, from being competitive. We cannot bear the costs of an ideological vision of climate action, especially when workers are the ones paying the price. The decision to phase out non-electric automobile production in Italy beginning in 2035 will result in the loss of 70,000 employment. The fight against climate change is never complete without addressing the social issue. A just and sacred struggle that we must lead, but with a pragmatic perspective". Antonio Tajani, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, made this statement during the introduction to the Business Forum with companies in the sector that followed the signing of the Declaration of Intent on the Hydrogen Corridor yesterday in Rome.
