Senator Orfeo Mazzella, 59, of the 5-Star Movement, is the most productive parliamentarian in Italy. His conduct was celebrated through the presentation of an award given by the Knights of St. Camillus Foundation in the Senate's Barberia Room. During the ceremony, the Foundation's President recognized the Senator's “tireless parliamentary commitment, which has made him the most legislatively productive among first-term parliamentarians”. Specifically, according to a ranking updated to December 2024, Mazzella boasts an impressive 15 bills, seven speeches in explanations of vote, 100 questions, and 101 speeches in the Chamber. “The productivity of a parliamentary representative is of fundamental importance for the proper functioning of institutions and the well-being of Society: it refers to a politician's ability to translate his or her promises and ideals into concrete actions, into laws and measures that have a positive impact on the lives of citizens,” Iannucci said. Mazzella, who is also a dentist, was born in Cercola, Naples, but lives in Torre Annunziata.
