Pope Francis aimed to underscore the important role of the nuns in the Church by welcoming the members of the Hilton Foundation, a U.S. non-profit organization that collaborates with certain Vatican Dicasteries to offer them opportunities for study and formation. He stated, "Little has been invested in this, except with the clergy because they are considered 'second class'. We must overcome a clerical and misogynistic mentality". According to Vatican News, the Pontiff then sought to remember the roles held by women in the Vatican and confirmed his desire to nominate Sister Petrini as head of the Governorate.
