The Gaza Strip is a vast stretch of rubble and tent communities in which the population must pick up the pieces of a broken life. Italy will play its part. Following his visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani organized a technical roundtable at the Foreign Ministry to discuss one of the government's most significant humanitarian initiatives, "Food for Gaza". And during this meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Universities, Annamaria Bernini, as well as representatives from the FAO, the World Food Programme, the Red Cross, the regions, and municipalities, Italy declared its intention to be the leader in assistance to the population. The government has initiated its initial initiative by focusing on cancer patients who, at this time, must evacuate the Strip in order to receive the highest quality of care. The Umberto I Polyclinic in Rome and the Regina Margherita in Turin have already been put on alert, and everything is in place to welcome and care for 21 youngsters with cancer. They, the youngest, must leave Gaza immediately. Far from poverty, the cold, and unexploded ordnance, and above all, in search of treatment and hospitals that no one in Gaza can provide.
