Giordano Veronesi, who with his brothers Carlo and Bruno had taken up the industrial legacy of their father Apollinare and transformed Veronesi into one of the giants of Italian agribusiness in the international arena with 9,000 employees and about 4 billion euros in sales, died in Verona at the age of 85. Veronesi was born in Lugo di Grezzana (Verona) in 1940. He graduated in 1966 in veterinary medicine from the University of Milan with honors and specialized in avian pathology at the University of Bologna in 1972. An entrepreneur of large openings and a pioneer of modern animal husbandry, Veronesi within the company has taken on various positions over time, until serving from 2005 to 2011 as chairman of the group's holding company. Numerous commitments were also the ones he had outside the family group as well.
