Shivers on the track in Barcelona on Ferrari's second day of testing: for Lewis Hamilton there was the first accident behind the wheel of the Rossa. The seven-time world champion reportedly lost control of the SF-23 in the final stretch of the Montmeló circuit, ending up against the barriers. No injuries to the driver, who was immediately rescued and emerged unharmed and with his legs from the cockpit. The tests were behind closed doors, Ferrari had imposed strict confidentiality measures inside the facility, the decision to rent the entire Catalan track for three days was dictated not only by technical necessity - to have feedback on a demanding track - but also by the desire to turn away from prying eyes. The accident occurred at one of the fastest points, in the third sector, at the last corner: since the removal of the chicane in front of it, it is tackled at around 200 km/h. Fun fact: Hamilton also ended up against the barriers in his test debut with McLaren (2007) and in the one with Mercedes (2013).
