The positive trend of Italian olive oil exports continues, with an increase in the first ten months of 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year: +6% in volume (288,266 tons) and +50% in value, exceeding 2.62 billion euros (Source: Ismea). This represents a significant opportunity for the 619,000 Italian businesses in the sector and the more than 4,300 active oil mills, offering an additional avenue for growth in international markets. In terms of production, according to Ismea's estimate for the 2024/2025 season, Puglia alone accounts for 45% of the national olive oil production, amounting to approximately 100,000 tons out of the total 224,000. Leveraging these positive figures, the inaugural event of EVOLIO Expo took place on January 30. Running until Saturday, February 1, this international B2B fair dedicated to Mediterranean EVO oil is taking place at the Fiera del Levante exhibition center in Bari. The event has a strong international focus, aiming to promote Italian excellence on the global stage, with the participation of 22 buyers from key strategic countries for Italy—such as the USA, Tunisia, and Germany—alongside 161 exhibiting companies and 20 associations, organizations, and institutions. EVOLIO Expo is not just a major trade showcase but also a platform for in-depth discussions and exchanges across the entire supply chain. Over the three-day event, there will be 100 conferences, training courses, exhibitions, panel tests, and talks, involving associations, institutions, exhibitors, and visitors.
