Trento turns pink for the eighth edition of the Sports Festival, set to take place from October 9 to 12. Maurizio Rossini, CEO of Trentino Marketing, and Gianni Valenti, deputy director of the Gazzetta dello Sport and scientific director of the festival, presented the new edition in the garden of Palazzo Benvenuti in the Trentino capital yesterday. Together they also disclosed the theme of this year's festival: Pure adrenaline. "Adrenaline is what flows through the veins of athletes when they win a race, but it is also what flows through our veins when we go to see a talk by a champion we love", said Valenti.
"Adrenaline, which is an essential part of sporting performance, is also useful to us organizers, who every year want to amaze the public", added Rossini. He went on to emphasize that "another fundamental element for the success of the Sports Festival are the champions who participate in the events and, by telling their experience to colleagues, always open new paths for us". The conference was also attended by the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, the provincial councilor for education, culture, and sports, family policies, youth, and equal opportunities, Francesca Gerosa, the provincial councilor for craftsmanship, commerce, tourism, forestry, hunting, and fishing, Roberto Failoni, the mayor of Trento, Franco Ianeselli, the president of CONI Trento, Paola Mora, the president of APT Trento, Monte Bondone, Valle dei Laghi, Franco Aldo Bertagnolli, the Rector's delegate for sports, Paolo Bouquet, and the president of Cassa Centrale Banca, Giorgio Fracalossi. Toto Forray, the captain and point guard of Aquila Basket of Trento, was the special guest of the ceremony. The discussion was moderated by Giampaolo Pedrotti, head of the press office of the Autonomous Province of Trento. "The Sports Festival is one of the few events that truly satisfies everyone: both fans and those who do not enjoy sports", stated Mayor Franco Ianeselli, complimenting the organizers for their dedication. "Its added value", he continued, "lies in the opportunity to listen to champions who, by participating in talks, can provide valuable lessons to children, teenagers, and adults". Maurizio Fugatti, the President of Trentino, expressed his enthusiasm for the region's growing interest in all-round sports and the upcoming 2026 Olympics and Paralympics. "The 420 million euros invested by the region, in addition to the 300 million from the State, will yield results", he stated. "Additionally, together with the regions of Lombardy and Veneto, we will also host the 2028 Youth Olympic Games. Now, we have another great dream: to host the 2031 Cycling World Championships", he concluded.
