An airliner flight with 193 passengers on board was forced to make an emergency landing at Venice airport due to a strong smell of burning sensed in the cabin. This was announced by the President of the Veneto region, Luca Zaia, pointing out that the pilots activated emergency procedures and requested the intervention of the fire brigade. Disembarkation was safe and no one was injured. Flight AF 1532, which left Paris at 9:45 a.m. and was bound for Athens, reversed course midway through its journey due to technical problems, landing in Venice around 12:15 p.m. Normal operations at Marco Polo Airport resumed shortly, while passengers were assisted by the airline while waiting for a new aircraft.
