Israel's resumption of bombing of the Gaza Strip has reignited the international debate over responsibility for ending the cease-fire. According to a survey conducted by Termometro Politico Political, there are mixed opinions on the issue among Italians. 41.5% place the blame on Israel, arguing that it is carrying out a "real genocide, unjustifiable from every point of view". 16.7% see predominantly Israeli responsibility, but also acknowledge some blame on Hamas. On the opposite side, 20.1% believe that Hamas is primarily responsible, although they consider the Israeli reaction disproportionate. Finally, 17.9% place the blame entirely on Hamas, referring to the October 7, 2023 attack and the presence of hostages in the group's hands.
