Experimentation of bodycams for operators of FS Security, the division of the Italian FS Group dedicated to security, kicks off in Liguria. For four months, ten devices will be available to staff to improve worker and passenger protection at stations and on the region's main rail routes. The initiative, on a voluntary basis, has already garnered wide support. In the coming months, the trial will be extended to Piedmont, Tuscany, Apulia and, later, Lombardy. The bodycams, designed with privacy in mind, do not allow operators to view or delete videos. Images are downloaded and managed only by authorized personnel, while the device operates in stand-alone mode, with no connection to external networks. Key functions include pre-recording, which saves a video interval immediately preceding the activation of recording. Filming will be initiated only in case of potential security risks. At the end of the trial, a questionnaire will collect feedback from operators to assess possible future developments.
