The 2025 edition of Miart, the historic contemporary art fair in Milan, now in its 29th edition, revolves around the figure of Robert Rauschenberg (1925-2008), on the centenary of his birth. Not surprisingly, it is titled "Among Friends", just like his last major retrospective, presented in 2017 by MoMA in New York. The flagship project, among the many that, at the same time, are lighting up the entire city, is the exhibition "Rauschenberg and the Twentieth Century", curated for the Museo del Novecento by its director, Gianfranco Maraniello, and Nicola Ricciardi, artistic director of Miart, with the consultancy of the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and the support of Fiera Milano: an exhibition spread throughout the museum's itinerary, which has completed its rearrangement for the occasion and which, from April 4 to June 29, will host eight magnificent works by the American master among its masterpieces.
