A showcase full of Italian companies. That's what the 9th edition of the annual FT1000 Europe's Fastest Growing Companies look like. The index of the Financial Times - the leading British newspaper in European business information - groups together the 1,000 companies on the Old Continent that posted the highest percentage of revenue growth last year. In this context, Italy also leads the ranking by nationality among the top 20 companies. It has six, compared with five from the UK, three from Germany, and one each from Poland, Finland, Hungary, Norway, France and the Czech Republic. Among the Top 50, Italy is knocked off the top podium - a prerogative of the United Kingdom, with 17 super-growth firms - but is second, with 13 companies, greatly distancing Germany (six) and France (four), while ten states remain stuck at one presence. Topping the list is Polish energy company Menlo Electric, whose sales grew 830.8% in one year. The first Italian is Olla Home Solution (construction and engineering), fourth in the ranking. Among the 13 Italian companies placed in the Top 50, construction and engineering firms predominate (5), followed by technology-science services and travel and tourism (2), and then with a single presence in wholesale trade, advertising and marketing, financial services and management consulting.
