During an excavation in the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, a funeral relief of a man and a woman was discovered in collaboration with the Park (scientific direction of Professor Llorenç Alapont) as part of the research project "Investigating the Archaeology of Death in Pompeii" of the University of Valencia. The two nearly life-size sculptures, which are related to a gigantic tomb at the necropolis of Porta Sarno, have been moved to the Palestra Grande within the site and will be displayed at the upcoming exhibition "Being a Woman in Ancient Pompeii", opening on April 16. During the event, visitors will be able to observe the ongoing delicate restoration work.
