The Synod Assembly of the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI), held at the Vatican, rejected the text proposed by the leadership, postponing any decision to the October 25 meeting. Monsignor Erio Castellucci, who led the work, explained that the many requests for changes presented by the 28 working groups call for an overall revision of the document, and not just simple adjustments. Among the issues that emerged with greatest relevance were the accompaniment of people in special affective situations and the ecclesial and pastoral responsibility of women, aspects considered priorities by the Assembly's base.
