The cloister of Palazzo Chigi was the stage for a celebration dedicated to Italian agrifood excellence. In the presence of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and numerous students from hotelier institutes, the “Masters of the Art of Italian Cuisine” awards were presented, a recognition established by law this year and intended for those who have contributed to enhancing the national gastronomic heritage. Among the awardees were names of absolute prestige: Iginio Massari for pastry making, Carlotta Fabbri for gelato making, Franco Pepe for pizza, Carlo Petrini for gastronomy, Piercristiano Brazzale for dairy art, Maria Francesca Di Martino for olive growing, Riccardo Cotarella for wine making, and Massimo Bottura for cooking. The event, which was opened by the speech of the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida, was attended by representatives of the main trade associations and a delegation of students from the agricultural and hotel institutes of Rome and its province.
