Italy and France are challenging each other on the terrain of high-speed rail, to the tune of multimillion-dollar investments: TGV versus Frecciarossa, on the Milan-Paris route. The week just passed saw the official reopening of the link, with two events in Milan. And it is already hunting for customers. The French SNCF has put three daily, round-trip connections to the Ville Lumière on the table. Tickets start at a base price of 29 euros. The FS Group has relaunched with four daily runs. Tickets start at 35 euros. The journey in both cases lasts about 7 hours; Frecciarossa makes 6 stops before reaching Paris: Turin Porta Susa, Oulx-Cesana-Claviere-Sestriere, Modane, Saint-Jean-De-Maurienne-Arvan, Chambery and Lyon. TGV makes five: Turin Porta Susa, Oulx-Cesana-Claviere-Sestriere, Modane, Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne-Arvan and Chambéry. Expectations are promising for both groups, considering that the number of passengers carried by Trenitalia France, from December 2021 to date, has been more than three million. The success Is accompanied by high passenger satisfaction rates (98%), with 97% ready to repeat the experience and recommend Trenitalia to their acquaintances.
