first edition of the Roots Festival, a project conceived by Glocal Think and promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ended with great success. The initiative, which saw the participation of municipalities and associations from the regions of Campania, Lazio and Trentino-Alto Adige, celebrated local traditions and the value of small communities, aiming for a sustainable and inclusive future. The final day, which took place in Rome, was marked by exciting moments, with many local actors sharing stories and projects for the growth of the territories involved. Emanuela Sica, artistic director of the festival, stressed the importance of the active participation of municipalities, administrations and associations. The festival was also an opportunity to promote Roots Tourism, as pointed out by Giovanni Maria De Vita of the Farnesina, who highlighted how the Italea network is working to revitalize the places of origin of Italians around the world. Toni Ricciardi, PD deputy, recalled the importance of projects such as this to counter the desertification of inland areas by promoting responsible and sustainable tourism. The edition laid the foundations for a future of growth and enhancement of traditions, confirming the Roots Festival as a fundamental tool for the regeneration of small Italian villages.
