Easter lunch in 2025 will be more expensive for Italian families. This was revealed by the Consumer Training and Research Center (C.r.c.), which predicts an increase in festive food spending of approximately 100 million euros over 2024. The total amount spent on Easter meals exceeds 2 billion euros. Butter had the highest price increase, at +19.7%, followed by ground coffee (+19.5%) and chocolate in all forms (+9.7%). Easter sweets are particularly affected: industrial chocolate eggs have seen hikes of up to 20%, with some brands reaching 80 euros per kilogram. Savoury foods are also affected: lamb, which is eaten by one in every three families, has increased by 8.2% over the previous year, while beef has increased by 4.4%. Eggs (+4.4%), fresh veggies (+4.3%), and soft drinks (+7.9%) have all increased. According to the C.r.c., the price increase impacts all of Easter's emblematic products, having a direct influence on the family budget and regional culinary traditions, particularly for those who like to prepare dessert at home.
