On Sunday afternoon, Sassuolo received mathematical assurance that it will be promoted to the next Serie A football season. After winning 3-1 in the derby against Modena, Sassuolo is now 16 points ahead of Spezia, third in the rankings, with five games remaining in the championship: in Serie A, the top two teams advance automatically, while the third promoted team is determined by the playoffs. Sassuolo was relegated to Serie B last year after spending eleven consecutive seasons in Serie A. This season, the team is coached by Fabio Grosso. He has retained nearly all of his most talented players, including Domenico Berardi, Armand Laurienté, Kristian Thorstvedt, and Samuele Mulattieri. Additionally, he has acquired additional valuable players, including Simone Verdi and Matteo Lovato. They have demonstrated from the start that they are a higher-level team than everyone else, particularly in offense, scoring 73 goals in 33 games. Sassuolo is the team of a small town of around 40,000 people in the province of Modena, best known for its ceramic production.
