Hilton continues to expand, announcing two new sites in Milan and Rome. The Canopy by Hilton Milan Duomo will open in December and have 96 rooms, a rooftop terrace with a swimming pool, a gym, and a spa. Next year, the Hilton Garden Inn near the Colosseum will be inaugurated, replacing the previous President hotel. Hilton thus expands to 89 properties in Italy. Canopy is a lifestyle brand, and Milan will be its Italian premiere; there are 43 locations in 13 countries, including London, Cape Town, Paris, Madrid, Cannes, and Zagreb, just to name a few. Hilton has operated in Italy since 1963, employing 3,500 workers. Customers come from all over the world, including the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and China. There are significant investments in technology: for example, the Hilton Honors app allows you to book your room, select it, check in, and even use your phone as a digital key.
