Easter 2025: it's a booking boom. The latest survey to Italian accommodation businesses, carried out by ISNART for Unioncamere and ENIT as part of the Observatory on the Economy of Tourism of the Chambers of Commerce, shows how operators report a room fill rate for the Easter period of nearly 60%. A figure that, at the level of the accommodation sector only hotellerie, corresponds to more than 670 thousand rooms sold, for a turnover estimated at about 128 million euros. The most consistent trend of bookings is made in the destinations of slow tourism in the inland areas of the country, where it reaches over 70% of occupied rooms; with 1 in 10 rooms sold more than the final 2024, it seems to find further confirmation of the increased visibility of destinations outside the usual tourist routes. Reservation figures in art cities (63.9%), mountain resorts (61.3%) and spa destinations (59.6%) are also excellent. The early sales trend for spring bridges also appears to be up to expectations: 57%for the April 25 long holiday and 55% for the May Day one, respectively. These numbers are certainly affected by the contribution of foreign tourism. As Enit S.p.A. notes, between March and May 2025, total airport arrivals in Italy from abroad are expected to increase by +4.5% compared to the same quarter in 2024 (6,826,831 vs. 6,534,725; of which 96% leisure). 28.4% of these flows are expected in Rome, in the wake of the Jubilee effect: in fact, it should be noted that in Lazio, Umbria and Marche, 30% of businesses associate the growth of their clientele with the Jubilee Event, which seems to confirm its value in terms of tourist attractiveness, thanks to the combination with the spring holidays.
