"Made in Italy agri-food is one of the pillars of our economy, with a value of almost 70 billion euros in exports and a significant impact on Italy's GDP and image in the world." This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in a video message sent to the General Assembly of the Consortium for the Protection of Grana Padano Cheese. Meloni stressed that Italian products tell “who we are, our identity, our culture and our production vocation,” and claimed the record investments allocated by the government to support the sector. Among the actions cited: the fight against counterfeiting and unfair competition, support for the training of young people and measures to deal with high energy prices, such as the Agrisolare program, which has enabled more than 23,000 farms to install photovoltaic panels and reduce costs. Meloni then denounced the phenomenon of “Italian sounding”, which robs Italy of 120 billion euros a year and numerous jobs, reiterating the government's commitment to protect producers and designations of origin. "We will continue on this path, with lucidity and pragmatism, even in a complex phase like the current one. The government will always stand by those who defend our identity and hold high the flag of Italy in the world”.
