In Italy, 40% of employees, particularly younger generations, say they wish to change jobs, which is 9 points higher than the European average of 31%. Southern European countries, such as Italy, France, Portugal, Cyprus, and Greece, as well as the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Poland, have the most difficult time holding people. France and Poland each have a 38% job-change intention rate, Portugal stands at 37%, Ireland at 35%, followed by Cyprus, Greece, and the UK at 33%. Norway is among the most virtuous countries, with only one in every four workers (25%) wanting to leave, followed by the Netherlands and Germany, both at 23%, and Austria at 21%. According to a simulation conducted by Great Place to Work Italia, an Italian company with 100 employees and a 10% turnover rate will incur annual expenditures of approximately 200 thousand euros due to employee departure. To avoid such costs, a strong employer branding strategy is essential.
