Family tragedy in Santa Maria a Monte, in the province of Pisa, where a violent argument between a father and son resulted in a shootout. The toll is two wounded: a 63-year-old man, now in critical condition, and his 37-year-old son, shot in the face but not in life-threatening condition. The shooter was allegedly the father, known to be the material executor of the 1995 murder of fashion entrepreneur Maurizio Gucci in Milan. According to initial reconstructions, the man allegedly attempted to kill his son with a small-caliber pistol and then turned the weapon on himself. 118 and the Pegaso helicopter were on the scene, transporting the 63-year-old to Cisanello Hospital, while the son was admitted to Lotti di Pontedera for surgery. The investigation is being handled by Carabinieri from the San Miniato company and the Santa Maria a Monte station.
