Ornella Muti will receive the prestigious David Speciale during the 70th edition of the David di Donatello Awards, to be held Wednesday, May 7, live on Rai 1 from the Cinecittà Studios. Piera Detassis, president and artistic director of the Academy of Italian Cinema, expressed great satisfaction in awarding the prize to Ornella Muti, describing her as an actress who has been able to traverse the best of Italian cinema to conquer international success as well. Her debut with “The most beautiful wife”, inspired by the story of Franca Viola, a symbol of Italy's civil growth after World War II, launched a career that includes films such as “Come home and meet my wife”, “The last woman” and “Tales of Ordinary Madness”. Muti is also known for her liveliness and irony in popular cinema, particularly in comedies with Adriano Celentano. Her career, defined by Piera Detassis as “prestigious and versatile”, has seen Ornella Muti work with some of the greatest Italian and international directors, always leaving an indelible mark with memorable interpretations. The award is intended to celebrate her talent and her commitment to foregrounding the values of life and empathy. On the occasion of the ceremony, a collection of Ornella Muti's early film successes will also be presented, curated by Oscar-winning director Sean Baker, who conducted an exclusive interview with the actress.
