A group of valuable archaeological artifacts that disappeared from Italy and were l of the precious artifacts, which from the collection of art dealer Giovanni Franco Becchina, a friend and suspected financier of Mafia boss Matteo Messina Denaro, had arrived at the Staatliche Antikensammlungen in Munich. Procedures for asset confiscation and restitution immediately began. It was an international tug-of-war between the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office and the German museum, which cooperated at least until last week's hearing before the Rome Court. Before the Judge for Preliminary Investigations, Public Prosecutor Stefano Opilio and Deputy Giovanni Conzo asked to subpoena the current director of the museum, Florian Knauss, and initiate the execution of the confiscation.
