With 99 votes in favor and 62 against, the Senate has definitively approved the Bill Decree, turning it into law without changes from the version already passed in the Chamber. The measure implements new support measures for families and businesses in response to the surge in energy prices. One of the main provisions is a special €200 bonus in 2025 on electricity bills for households with an ISEE (economic indicator) of up to €25,000. About 8 million families are expected to benefit, with a total cost of €1.6 billion. The bonus is in addition to the discounts previously offered to the most vulnerable groups, bringing the total savings on the electricity bill to 440 euros per year. Adding the gas incentive, a family can save around 500 euros. Companies also benefit from the legislation: energy-intensive large enterprises will receive €600 million in subsidies, funded by CO₂ quota auction proceeds. Small and medium-sized businesses with accessible power of at least 16.5 kW, on the other hand, will have their system charges waived for six months, for a total value of 800 million euros.
