Urso launches Italy-Egypt action plan on critical raw materials

Cairo - Adolfo Urso, Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, met with Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry, Ahmed Samirin, and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, in Cairo. Within the context of renewed bilateral relations between the countries, Minister Urso focused on synergies related to the mining sector and critical raw materials. In line with the renewed European and Italian legislative framework aimed at achieving strategic and industrial autonomy, Urso gathered the full willingness of the Egyptian government to conclude bilateral agreements regarding cooperation both in the extraction of critical raw materials in Egypt and in the initial processing phase on-site, ensuring tangible returns in terms of investments and employment. To this end, a rigorous action plan will be implemented to bring concrete benefits to both countries. Ministerial delegations from the two countries will organize a bilateral workshop in the coming weeks involving institutions, agencies, and companies engaged in the sector. "Italy and Egypt are committed to developing an industrial framework that fosters and accelerates strategic autonomy in the critical raw materials sector. Our country is ready to provide its engineering and entrepreneurial expertise to initiate synergies for extraction and processing in Egypt, benefiting both nations," stated Urso. (9colonne)
