CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE

The first Italian Design Day is an initiative of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Triennale di Milano and the ‘Salone del Mobile’ to celebrate the excellence of Italian design in the world – part of the important Italian cultural and economic sectors. The initiative will involve 100 "ambassadors" of Italian culture (designers, entrepreneurs, journalists, critics, communicators, and teachers) who will talk about experiences, projects and ideas during different 100 events in 100 cities around the world. The design sector - one of the main ‘made in Italy’ brand industries known all over the world - generates a turnover of €46.8 billion (2.9% of GDP) and employs 995,000 people between direct and indirect activities.
