Protestant Reformation Anniversary, conference with Professor Campi

(March 1, 2017) Art, history, religion. A debate covering various themes that scheduled for tomorrow - Thursday, March 2 from 19 to 20.30 – at the Italian Institute of Culture in Berlin hosting Emidio Campi. Emeritus professor of church history at the University of Zurich and director of the Société de l'histoire du protestantisme français (Paris), the Society of Waldensian Studies (Torre Pellice) and Reformationsstiftung (Zürich), Campi is a great scholar of the history of Protestantism in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. With the conference "Michelangelo Und Die Glaubensfragen Seiner Zeit" – he will open the series of conferences on #luther_in_italien in the German capital. The professor who is also director of the Institute of History of the Swiss Reform, will speak about the particular religiosity of Michelangelo. Church historian, Campi specializes on the Reformation in Italy and Switzerland, and has published his studies on John Calvin, Peter Martyr Vermigli, Huldrich Zwingli, Heinrich Bullinger and other reformers. 2017 celebrates the five hundredth anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, rightly considered a historic event in German history. Less known, however, is the influential role played by Luther on Italian culture. The conference #luther_in_italien cycle intends to explore these issues.
