A meeting celebrates the places that hold literature in Italy and Norway

(March 28, 2017) Glimpses, landscapes, historic buildings and narrow streets that overlook the sea, the birthplace of the thoughts and visions of the great authors of literature, who hold the feelings that inspired the most famous works of literature. Places full of culture, in Italy and in the world, which are to be protected: Here you find the activities of The Literary Parks, which together with the Dante Alighieri Society and in collaboration with the Italian National Commission for UNESCO and the Embassy of Italy to the Kingdom of Norway, organized a meeting (on April 3 at 5 PM in Rome at the headquarters of the Dante Alighieri Society) to present the Johan Peter Falkberget Røros Literary Park (Norway). The meeting is organized on the occasion of the Small Town Year organized by Mibact for 2017. The work of Falkberget (Nordre-Rugel, 1879 - Røros, 1967) describes characters and images drawn from his experience, especially from his early years when he worked in coal mines. His work is focused on a strong social sense, a heartfelt spirituality and a deep love of nature. The Literary Parks and Dante Alighieri Society intend to start right with Falkberget Røros the celebrations for the Year of the Villages that in the months to follow will involve all the villages and towns that are precious and unique literary inspiration places. During the meeting there will be greetings by Alessandro Masi, Secretary General of the Dante Alighieri Society, Bjørn Trygve Grydeland, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Italy, Giorgio Novello, Italian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway and Hans Vintervold, Røros Mayor . Followed by contributions of Harald Hauge, Vicar of Røros, Francesco Moschini, Secretary General of the Academy of San Luca, Vittorio Alessandro, President of the National Park of Cinque Terre. Conclusions by Stanislas de Marsanich, President of The Literary Parks. For the occasion there will be a small exhibition of photographs that illustrate Røros (since October 2016 part of the network of The Literary Parks) and the places dear to Falkberget. On April 3 starts a season full of events in Norway. At the end of the month it will be announced in the island of Røst the opening of the Literary Park dedicated to the veneziano Pietro Querini. The Rost event (linked through Querini to the Vicenza village of Sandrigo), ending a series of meetings on the Literary Parks organized by the Dante Alighieri Society of Halden, Stavanger, Trondheim, Bergen and Kristiansand started in October in Oslo Litteraturhuset with the Literary Parks Montale and d'Annunzio (Anversa degli Abruzzi) thanks to the Dante Committee of the Norwegian capital and the Embassy of Italy. ABOUT / CULTURAL EXCHANGES

The Mayor of Tolfa Luigi Landi, the Mayor of Fermo Paolo Calcinaro, Røros Cultural Manager Morten Tondel, the Councilman for culture of Anversa degli Abruzzi Mario Giannantonio were among those who attended the meeting in Rome. Their presence at the Palazzo Florence is rich in meaning. Poet Luigi di Ruscio (Fermo, January 27, 1930 - Oslo, 23 February 2011) was from Fermo, a “man from Marche, worker, writer", who lived for decades in Oslo and to which the Italian Institute of Culture and the Embassy of Italy have dedicated a literary path in the Norwegian capital. The Italo-Norwegian Study Center, an association that strives to promote cultural exchanges between Norway and Italy, was born in Tolfa in 1995. The Literary Park Gabriele d'Annunzio in Anversa degli Abruzzi eventually contributed The Literary Park Eugenio Montale and the Cinque Terre Park to the birth of the Røros Literary Park.
