Art and science, here is the App that connects Earth and Space

(April 19 2017) "Art Space Image. The importance of image in science and art "is the title of the meeting to be held on April 24 at Italian Cultural Institute of Paris. The event - realized under the auspices of Italian Emabassy in France and sponsored by the National Council of Architects and Restorers, P.P.C Order of Architects of Rome and Province, the Public Space Biennale and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Mechanics of the University of Trento - is an occasion for think about the relationship between art and science through the image, which plays a key role in communication in contemporary society. The meeting starts from the scientific field of representation and design, graphics, image in art and science, and then get to communication, social networks and address the theme of the work of collective art. It prefigured as an exclusive event for the presence of the master Michelangelo Pistoletto, the President of the Italian Space Agency Roberto Battiston and the chief of staff of the European Spatial Agency Elena Grifoni Winter. At the center of the conference, the presentation of the App SPAC3, the application connected to the Space Mission VITA, by ASI / NASA with the ESA Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli. The App SPAC3, will not only receive images from the space mission, but also to send images from the Earth, which will merge with the pictures taken by Nespoli in space, through an infinity sign, the logo designed by Pistoletto for the mission ESA. The outcome of this palimpsest of images open and shared, will be a collective work of art, a remote dialogue, a work dynamic with universal participation. (Red)


ABOUT / THE ROLE OF IMAGE

Roberto de Rubertis (emeritus professor of the University of Rome Sapienza) speaks about the role of image in science and art with Giovanna Massari, (from University of Trento) with the project of digital magazine XY. The images of this collective work of art that come from outer space, as universal participation and message sharing are also an opportunity to talk with the architect Matteo Clemente, who does research at the University of Rome Sapienza, about public urban space and urban regeneration processes through collective action and the active participation of the inhabitants. The event is curated and organized by architect Alessia Bennani, corresponding of the digital XY project and coordinator for the Order of Archtiects of Rome in Paris, which has been promoting excellence and Italian creativity in the French capital.
