(May 9, 2017) Presentation of the Italian Lessons book by Francesco Sabatini, Honorary President of the Crusca Academy, was the occasion for a cultural conference on the Italian language organized at Dietikon by the Cultural Circle "S. Pertini" on Saturdays May 6. The event was also attended by Prof. Lorenzo Coveri of the University of Genoa, Prof.Ugo Cardinale of the University of Trieste and Prof. Michele Loporcaro from the University of Zurich, coordinated by Vincenzo Faraoni, an Italian linguistic scholar. Speakers with their contributions accompanied the audience in an exciting journey on various aspects of our language, in which they illustrated and emphasized the importance of Italian as a mother tongue, essential for the full development of an individual's personality. But it has also been highlighted how the Italian language is increasingly threatened by supporters of the English language. (Red)
