Lucilla Rose, the Italian violinist who has swayed the Czech Republic

(12 May 2017) The talent of a young Italian violinist has won over the people of Prague. "The Italian Embassy to the Czech Republic and the Italian Institute of Culture of Prague are pleased to announce that the 16-year-old Lucilla Rose Mariotti won the 59th international competition 'Kocian Violin Competition' (May 1 to 9) in Ústí nad Orlicí (Czech Republic) thanks to her P.I. Tchaikovsky Concerto for Violin in D Major op. 35 ". It is an important milestone for the young artist and for our country for the first time in the history of this musical competition - one of the most important for young violinists - the award went to an Italian musician. Lucilla Rose will have the opportunity to record pieces for the Czech Radio and to perform at the opening of the Festival next year with the orchestra as a soloist. However, this is not Rose's first recognition in the Czech Republic: this year Lucilla Rose was the winner of the "Josef Muzika" International Competition of Nová Paka, where she also received a mention for best performance of a contemporary Czech song that was compulsory in its category, "Dža More" of S.Bodorova. She was also the winner of category V in the international violin competition "Josef Micka" in Prague and received the "The PhDr. Josef Micka Award" and an invitation to play as a soloist with the orchestra at the 2018 International Festival of Kroměříž, under the direction of internationally renowned conductor, Tomas Netopil.
