Exhibitions: eyes focused on Enrico Prampolini's drawings

(9 June 2017) Enrico Prampolini is synonymous with painter, sculptor, set designer, choreographer, architect and designer. He has developed advertisements, posters, photomontages, and large murals. His intent was, as he himself said, to express the extreme latitudes of the introspective world. Several of his works - 32 drawings and sketches from the Historical Archives of the Opera House of Rome - are now featured at the Sztuki Museum in Poland thanks to the collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture. Prampolini (Modena 1894-Roma 1956) is considered one of the most important artists of the international avant-garde. His works carry the echo of almost all the artistic currents of the first half of the twentieth century: Futurism co-founded with Marinetti, Dadaism, constructivism, surrealism, Parisian abstractism of Cercle and Carré. THE ARTIST

As a primary proponent of Futurism, he attended Giacomo Balla's studio. He was in contact with representatives of European artistic avant-gardes: Dadaism, Bauhaus, De Stijl; with Pablo Picasso, Vasilij Kandinskij, and Jean Cocteau.
