'Open doors' at the IIC, presentation of Italian language and culture courses

(10 July 2017) Italian is the language of fashion, art, design and good food. But, above all, it is increasingly loved and appreciated outside national boundaries so as to climb up in the rankings of the most studied languages abroad to fourth place after English, Spanish, and Chinese. The teaching of Italian language and culture is at the centre of the Guatemala City Italian Institute of Culture's agenda. For this reason, the Institute organised "Open Doors" which is scheduled for Thursday, July 20 from 11 - 18:00 at the IIC. During the day, the Italian language and culture courses promoted by the institute will be presented to the public: "Today, which is open to the public will be presented through various activities, courses, teaching methodology and the significant and curious aspects of Italian culture". STUDYING ITALIAN ABROAD

Dante's language spread abroad not only for study or work but more and more foreigners who decide to learn Italian because they are fascinated by our country and everything 'made in Italy'. But how is it possible to study Italian abroad and with what instruments? There are schools that teach Italian language and culture throughout the world, contributing to preserving the cultural identity of children of Italian families and citizens of Italian origin. The network of Italian schools abroad (nursery, primary, middle, and high school) includes: eight state-owned institutes based in Addis Ababa, Asmara, Athens, Barcelona, Istanbul, Madrid, Paris, and Zurich; Italian private schools, most of which consist of all-encompassing institutions present in various geographical areas of the world: Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Mediterranean, Middle East, and the Americas. At the University level, there are over 1,300 Italian courses active in more than 100 countries.
